Queer Artifacts (collaboration with H Schenck)

2022 - ongoing | 123” x 74” x 12” | Glass, copper, aluminum, brick, metal, acrylic plastic, various found materials

Over the past several months, we have sent prints, glass, scraps, and diary entries back and forth via snail mail, working in a closed, queer loop. In this version of the piece, Queer Artifacts, we’ve developed a formal response to the sorrow and chaos of the past few years.

As queer people living in the USA, we exist in an economy that faux uplifts us for a month of co-opted celebration for profit, then allows for our erasure. We strive for a radical, thoughtful, and weighted pride.

Our work acts as documentation of our minds as we react to darkness and reach out beyond it. We’ve (trans)lated meditations on isolation, surveillance, and trauma into finished works. Throughout, we center ourselves.
